Across Five Continents: A Review of 12 Celebrations for World Quantum Day

C114 News, April 15th (Nanshan) April 14th, 2025 is the fifth "World Quantum Day" and also recognized by the United Nations as the "International Year of Quantum Science and Technology", further expanding its commemorative significance.

Governments, academia, and industry around the world have held a series of celebration events, including large-scale industry conferences, public science exhibitions, high-level policy forums, etc., to stimulate public interest in quantum technology and showcase the cutting-edge development of quantum technology. 1. Forum on Discovering Quantum Possibilities

The forum is co hosted by Saudi Arabia's Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR), King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), and Saudi Aramco, bringing together global experts from government, industry, and academia to explore advances in quantum computing and science. 2. 2025 American Quantum Technology Conference

Quantum. Tech USA 2025 is one of the largest quantum computing conferences of the year, held from April 14th to 16th in Washington D.C., USA, to kick off the "Cryptography Focus Day" focused on quantum secure encryption, followed by a two-day conference and exhibition. The event is organized by Alpha Events and is expected to attract over 450 participants, including government officials such as NASA's Chief Technology Officer and representatives from mainstream quantum companies.

3. Dutch Quantum Ecosystem Celebration Event

The Dutch quantum community gathered at the University of Twente on April 14th to celebrate the country's vibrant ecosystem of quantum computing and technology. This event, jointly organized by the University of Twente and Quantum Delta NL (Dutch Quantum Innovation Center Network), will showcase quantum breakthroughs from all five major quantum centers in the Netherlands - Delft, Eindhoven, Leiden, Twente, and Amsterdam. 12. International Quantum Computer Master Class

In Spain, CESGA (Galicia Supercomputing Center) and USC (University of Santiago de Compostela) jointly organized an online master class called "Quantum Computing Practice", aimed at raising young students' awareness of the transformative power of quantum computing. Participants will receive an introductory tutorial on the working principles of quantum computers and, under the guidance of a mentor, attempt simple programming exercises on the quantum platform.
