The Precision Coil System consists of multiple sets of finely wound coils, including tri-axial gradient coils and shim (field-compensation) coils, designed to generate highly controlled magnetic fields within an enclosed space.
Core Functions
1. Active Magnetic Field Compensation
The system actively compensates residual environmental magnetic fields, including gradient components, to create an ultra-low-noise, near-zero-field, and highly homogeneous magnetic environment.
This enables effective noise suppression for ultra-sensitive sensors such as SQUIDs (Superconducting Quantum Interference Devices), achieving attenuation levels of up to six orders of magnitude, and ensuring reliable detection of extremely weak magnetic signals.
2. Active Magnetic Field Generation
As a high-precision magnetic field source, the system generates magnetic fields with well-defined amplitude, direction, and spatial distribution, including:
- Uniform magnetic fields
- Gradient magnetic fields
- Alternating magnetic fields
It is widely used in applications such as magnetic material characterization, biomagnetic signal simulation, and quantum control experiments.
System Integration
When integrated with a low-noise current source and a magnetic shielding system, the Precision Coil System enables both an ultra-low-noise magnetic background and nT-level controllable excitation fields.
This integrated solution supports high-fidelity and highly repeatable measurements in shielded environments, significantly enhancing experimental accuracy and system performance.
